SSP Photoshoot 2021: Borneo Traditional Costume

Welcome back.

We continue where the last blog SSP Kuching Mural Photowalk 2021 ended. After a good rest we headed for our next event not the next day as we decided earlier but in the afternoon of the same day. I am tired but passion ruled the moment.

Location for the photoshoot will be at Botanical Garden near the DUN. Props for photoshoot provided by Master Bakir Bujang. The photoshoot will be breakup into 2 parts namely Borneo Traditional Costume with a couple and Bawang Putih Bawang Merah with two beautiful models in Malay Kebaya.

Nixon and Sheera will be the models for Borneo Traditional Costume. Actually they just getting married last May 2022. Whereas Intan Zaiidi and Nor Ardiba will be the models for Bawang Putih Bawang Merah which I will share in our next posting.

How to get to the location?

You have 2 choices self-drive with Google Map aid if you have a car or call a GRAB service.

What are our Props for the Photoshoot? Let's see.

We started off with Sheera with just the headgear and shoot with my Olympus OM-D EM1 Mark 2 and lens m.zuiko 40-150mm f/2.8PRO. I need a longer focal length as I was a bit shy. Just kidding.

Then she changed her black T-shirt with the proper costume.

Sheera  looked stunning.

Next she changed into a Sabahan Traditional costume with Sipiton.

To add the spice, we bring in the hero, Nixon.

He looked good and worthy of a warrior.

He may looked tough and fierce but the maiden's dance melt him.

And they became ONE couple who loved each other.

Their love for each other getting stronger by the day and they got married in May 2022.

Wish them all the best and let LOVE always rule their hearts.

See you in the next photoshoot with Bawang Putih Bawang Merah.

SSP Kuching Mural Photowalk 2021

SSP or Sarawak Street Photography activities had been slow since the Covid-19 started in 2020 and further with MCO on 18th March 2020.

I was also not spared by Covid-19 and lucky I am fully healed.

Sarawak Street Photography organized a photography event SSP Kuching Mural Photowalk 2021 on 4th December 2021 as the cases of Covid-19 in Sarawak decreased and only a few participants joined us.

Yet it was enough to start the fun rolling after so long hiding in our own space or indoor shooting.

Glad to meet season shooters like Master Chan Hua Chiang, Master Abdul Rahman, Jimmy aka Sunset Hunter, John, Maliana Dahlan, Mazlan to name a few. Master Bakir Bujang, our leader joined us a bit later.

Kuching City Council had permitted local talents to paint some of its old buildings with attractive and interesting murals which attracted us to do this event and show the public what Kuching Street had to offer if you just love to walk around Kuching City.

Below are the murals that attracted my eyes.

1.Mural of the Sampan or Tambang which ply the Sarawak River. Located just near the riverside.

2. Murals at Lorong Dock

3.Murals at Lorong Masjid India.

And at last our leader, Master Bakir Bujang coming fully loaded.

4. Gold Miners Mural not far from Blacksmith hub.

If you happen to be here, have a taste of some delicious Lek Tau Suan too.

5. A Beauty and Cat Mural

6. Murals at the back of the Bishop Gate

Master Chan and Master Bakir discussed on our next event, a photoshoot with the theme Borneo Traditional Costume which were held the next day.

See you at the Photoshoot.

Before we go for Photoshoot, let's have a game of Chess. May you have a great day and stay safe.

See ya.

I am back

I was lost and now I am found.

I am back after a long lost in internet world when I redirected this blog to other server many years ago. Its a tough time as I missed blogging and I thought it's been deleted as that particular server was closed too.

I have travelled to many places all these while which I had captured in photos in my Flickr account.
