Lunch at Suki-Ya, Paradigm Mall

"What are we going to eat today?" is my wife favourite question which I do not like to answer.
Most of the time she decided of our outside meal but when we are at home, I am her chef as I love cooking.

"Buffet Lunch at Paradigm Mall?", she asked.

I just responded with, "OK!"

I knew she like to look for food coupon on the internet either from Groupon or Livingsocial or Dailydeals, just to name a few food coupon sites on the internet. Today she seems to have bought a meal coupon from one these site for buffet lunch at Suki-Ya, Paradigm Mall, Kelana Jaya.

Ngieng and Low: Meeting of Two Parents

The time has come for Seng Ping and Samatha to bring their parents for a meeting to discuss a serious matter concerning their future.

They agreed for the meeting to be held on Sunday, June 24th 2012 and they have chosen Restoran Thing Hoo as the place for the meeting of the two parents.

The parents:

Seng Ping's Father

Samantha's Mother
The loving Couple:

The couple seems to be in the best of time and ready for the next step in their friendship.

And they are looking at the same direction for the common goal.

For the rest of us, it's time to order the food for the night.

Food Ordering

Honey Fried Chicken

Mixed Vegetables with Seafoods
Tom Yam Seafoods - my favorite
Tom Yam Seafoods in Coconut
Steamed Sea Bass/Siakap - also my favorite
Kailan
Seng Ping and his nephew, Robert Ngieng
The main negotiator, Agnes Ngieng
The main language used during the discussion were Mandarin (Chinese dialet) and I think they are talking about the couple marriage arrangement; how much $ to give out and when is the date, how many table for the reception dinner, transport. Photography? No worry, I am always available.

Dinner is great. The food delicious.
My personal comments on the food:
Overall the food were delicious and perfectly to my taste. The Tom Yams were great and the seabass was prefectly cooked. Friendly and helpful staffs.  Price wise, it's worth it. Love to come again and I would recommend this restaurant to my 'love eating' friends.

The meeting and dinner is over and everyone is in a happy mood.

Time to say, "Good Bye and see you again."

Time for Agnes and I to make say, "GOOD NIGHT" and make our journey home to Puncak Alam.

See you next time. May you have a great evening.

Nangka Madu Klon J33 at Section 17

Jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus) or Nangka as it is known in Malaysia is one of my favourite local fruit.

Jackfruit/Nangka Madu J33 Tekam Yellow

I am always looking for the good and sweet Nangka and I have found one small stall selling these good Nangka at the Morning Wet Market in Section 17, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

Encik Zainal shows Nangka Madu
Encik Zainal whose origin from Kuching, Sarawak is the person who sells the Nangka at this stall.

At the Morning  Wet Market, he only sells a premium species which he called Nangka Madu J33 or Nanga Madu Tekam Yellow at MYR 5.00 per pack of 10-11 seeds.

Most of his Nangka fruits were sold to the wholesalers in the Klang valley.

According to Encik Zainal, he started his Nangka plantation which consists of more than a thousand trees with seven Nangka species three years ago.

Further he revealed to me that most of the Sarawakian especially in Kuching seems to prefer other fruits than Nangka. I assure him that though I am also a Sarawakian but I like Nangka very much. And stressed that the Nangka that he sold here is much much better than my village local Nangka.

The taste of these Nangka is as sweet as honey but not the sugar cane sweetness. The flesh is tender but not soft. And if you store these Nangka in your frig, it will last a few days and the taste is still the same.
Normally other local Nangka tend to be soften over time.

Jackfruit/Nangka Madu J33 (Tekam Yellow)
Encik Zainal also sells his Nangka Madu J33 at Kelana Jaya Morning Market.

If you want to taste his delicious and mouth watering Nangka Madu J33 Tekam Yellow, come to his stall at Section 17 Morning Market, Petaling Jaya.

The morning market is opposite of Jaya One and DKSH Office and the main road is Jalan Universiti.

I just love local fruits!!

Fish Head Noodle at Section 17

Yesterday I over heard my wife chat with her friend regarding our favourite Fist Head Noodle at Section 17 (Sentosa), Petaling Jaya. The place is quite near from our working place at Jalan Universiti. Thus that's one of the reason why we always come to that particular stall beside it's mouth watering noodles.

I overheard she mentioned about her meal which she had posted to her Facebook Wall through her new IPhone 4S. Her friend, May seemed to be very interested to know the location of this Fish Head Noodle as she also like Fish Head Noodle.

This prompt me to share our favourite place for dinner after office hours.

The stall is located in the corner coffee shop at a junction of  Jalan 17/40  and Jalan 17/27 Section 17 and in the front of the shop there are stalls selling fruits (mostly Banana), Bread and one stall frying Kueh Cha Koi.

The Restaurant name is Jackson Restaurant where you can also find Jackson Friend Hokkien Mee

Once you enter the coffee shop, you will see this stall with four types of Noodles offered complete with it's price.

And this is the man who owned the stall.
I salute this hardworking and joyful man. You will know when you see him.

This is the Fish Head Noodle which is Agnes' favourite meal.

As for me, I prefer Garoupa Noodle where fried fish replaced with fresh sliced Garoupa fish.

Taste wish, both are worth the journey and definitely will make you to come again.

Food Quality - Excellent
Food Quantity - Excellent by my standard of eating.( sshh I can eat a lot.)
Price - match the taste.
Cleanliness - Good.
Friendliness - Excellent
Environment - just like normal coffee shop.

I love to cook and I am always want to know what is inside my foods.

Roughly what inside the bowl are:
Fish Head - fried fish
Garoupa - fresh raw fish

The rest of ingredients are the same.
- Noodle
- Tomatoes
- Salted Vegetables
- Ginger
- Milk
- Daun Soup
For taste a pitch of salt and white pepper.

How he cook?

On the cooking process, I advise you to see for yourselves.

Update on Business hours:
Old time to 8.00pm
New time: 7.00AM to 6.00PM

Good night and happy weekend.

Malacca - Johore Trip 2012 - Final Part

This is the last part of Malacca - Johore Trip 2012.

Early Sunday morning, Chew Chee Long went out to Pasar (Morning Market) with his auntie to buy some breakfast for us. When we woke up, they brought home a lot of packed food.

 Heavy breakfast at Auntie's house.

After breakfast we headed for our first destination which according to Chee Long's cousin is a good place to visit when you are in Batu Pahat, Johore. It's a Tou Pekong or a Chinese Temple.

 The road to Tou Pekong.

As we approached the Tou Pekong area, a tourist bus was already there. The building behind the bus is a building for Bird rearing project to get their nest.

Tou Pekong's guide explained to us about this horse and the horse master.

A statue of the deity in the small house behind the horse.

The Tou Pekong, Batu Pahat, the praying place for those who believe.

Entrance of the Tou Pekong where the visitors light their joysticks.

Irene Aik is pouring water on the Golden Frog as according to the Tou Pekong guide, good luck will follow you if you batch the Golden Frog and stroke it's back.

A bronze Turtle carrying wealth on it's back which is located next to the entrance of the Tou Pekong.

As I am busy taking photos, the Tou Pekong's guide  motioned me to follow him to the new Tou Pekong building to show us a new additional attraction. The building is still under construction. I wonder if I am look more like a reporter to attract his attention.

First is a place of prayer and worship.

And the second is an image of a Tiger which changed color every second based on the light source that shine on the image. It looks interesting and a great work of art.

We thanked the Tou Pekong's gentleman who show us around the temple.

Then we drove on to another destination recommended by Chee Long's cousin which was Pantai Minyak Beku as shown by the sign by the road side.

The Sign.

Nicely laid stairs to a small chalet.

A jetty for the small ship.

Our group at the jetty with Pang Wee Seng and Samantha.
Samantha, the one that Pang's love.

And below is the sharing of tissue as a sign of love.
"Thank you, Pang and Samantha for being with us."

Alas! As we turned out from the beach area, an alligator stopped us as the alligator walked in the middle of the road.
After we passed, the alligator crawled to the side of the road. Is that a sign?

We were a bit hungry and thirsty.
We went to a Famous Kedai Makan Soon Lai for our lunch.

We have LOBAK which was tasty and mouth watering good.

Then we have special noodles which remind me of the same delicacy in Sarikei.

Our last meal were a mixer of Herbal hard boiled Eggs, taufu, pork meat and pork inner parts.

The cook and his team serving their customers. Their moment really fast and it's seems that everyone knows
what they are doing, they are more like automatic robots.

Our last stop was at the famous Renggit Coffee.

We bid good bye to Auntie and Chee Long's cousin.

And off we go and head for Kuala Lumpur then Petaling Jaya.

When we approached Kuala Lumpur, It's already dark as the sun was hiding in the horizone.

That night we arrived home in Puncak Alam almost 11.00pm.

On Monday we were having a half day leave and I am also not so well which resulting in missed my Bible Study Class that Monday evening.

That's completed our journey to Malacca and Johore 2011.

I hope one day, you will visit these interesting places for sightseeing and to taste their delicious and mouth watering foods.
Peace be with you. Good night.
